The problem
Temsa global (temsa) is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 ts35 buses for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 217, bus emergency exits and window retention and release. some of the emergency exit mechanism instruction labels may have been installed farther than 16 cm from the release mechanism.
The risk
Due to the distance between the operating instructions and the windows release mechanism, in the event of an emergency, passengers may not recognize and follow the instructions for releasing the emergency exit windows delaying their safe exit from the bus and , increasing the risk of personal injury.
The fix
Temsa will notify owners, and new labels will be mailed to owners free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or before may 23, 2012. Owners may contact temsa at 1-404-602-0151.
