The problem

Shyft Group (Shyft Group) is recalling certain 2020 Utilimaster Walk-In vans. If depressed to the floor of the vehicle, the throttle pedal may get trapped in the open position by the tread plate installed on the floor at the driver's pedestal.

The risk

The throttle pedal stuck in the open position could increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Shyft Group will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for appropriate clearance between the throttle pedal and the tread plate. If there is not adequate clearance, dealers will adjust the tread plate for adequate clearance, free of charge. The recall began October 26, 2020. Owners can contact Shyft Group customer service at 1-800-582-3454. Shyft Group's number for this recall is 20-09.
