The problem
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022 Freightliner Cascadia vehicles. A certain combination of software and anti-lock brake system (ABS) hardware may lead to a system error, possibly causing a loss of vehicle braking and the inability to set the parking brake.
The risk
A loss of brakes increases the risk of a crash.
The fix
DTNA service facilities will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 10, 2022. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL919.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
