The problem
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The headlight control module software may cause the side marker and daytime running lights to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
A loss of exterior lighting can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will update the headlight control module software and recalibrate the headlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 13, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22C14.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
