Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang vehicles. The engine compartment wiring harness ground connections may fracture and result in a loss of drive power, or a loss of function in the windshield washing system, headlights, air conditioning, or engine cooling fan. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment," and 104, "Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems."
Risk: A loss of driver power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, a loss of headlight function or windshield washing system function can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine compartment wiring harness ground terminals, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in March 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C40. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 28, 2026.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling one 2024 Mustang vehicle that was repaired incorrectly under recall 24V802. The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may not illuminate at startup or while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays" and 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."
Risk: An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or vehicle speed, increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: A dealer will update the instrument panel cluster software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 12, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C35.

My car would not start so I had it towed to the Ford Dealership where I bought the car - The car would not start even though the battery had power - it also had a burning wire smell which is consistent with the recall The dealer has not looked at the car since it was towed to them on 9/3/26

Drove it today in the rain noticed water on floor did my research found out it had a recall of 25C43 or NHTSA 25V546. My vehicle is subject to Ford safety recall 26C40 / NHTSA recall 26V547. I contacted an authorized Ford dealership to have the recall remedied. The dealership confirmed in writing that the recall is currently under Advance Notice and that Ford has not yet provided dealers with the remedy or technical repair instructions. Therefore, the dealership cannot perform the recall repair at this time. NHTSA’s recall lookup currently shows the status as “Recall Incomplete, remedy not…

The manufacturer marked Safety Recall 25C43 as completed on this VIN. However, the remedy has failed. The vehicle is currently suffering from the exact safety hazard described in NHTSA Campaign 25V546000 (water intrusion, wiring harness corrosion, and total taillight failure). The authorized dealer refuses to re-service the vehicle because the recall is marked 'complete' on the VIN, and Ford Corporate has denied goodwill assistance and failed to fulfill scheduled manager…

I am extremely disappointed with Ford’s handling of my situation and the lack of customer support for what appears to be a premature major component failure. I own a 2024 Ford Mustang GT with only 56,022 miles. While driving, my air conditioning suddenly stopped blowing cold air. I took the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealership, where it was diagnosed with a catastrophic A/C compressor failure. The compressor had internally locked up, sending metal shavings throughout the…

I bought a new 2024 Mustang in 11/2024 from Town & Country Ford in Port Arthur, Tx. Days after the purchase, I recieved a voicemail to return asap and was told by the owner that I would recieve a gift card if I did. I didn't understand why at the time, as it wasn't explained. Unfortunately, I was unable to return because the dealership is 4 hours drive from my residence. That was the last I heard anything. Recently, in 6/2026 I noticed that there were 2 active recalls in the…

I own a new manual 2024 Ford Mustang GT now with 800 miles. When turning on the unit on 2 occasions, one on November 20 and another on December 3, documented with photographs and videos, the unit presents a black screen with no image. Either in reverse or drive without the possibility of viewing any image. The agency was notified and commented that these failures had never occurred.
