I received a letter from FORD identifying my Ranger as in need of an airbag replacement under recall, for free installation and parts. I called the only Ford dealer in town, Capitol Ford, Santa Fe, NM, and was told they were unable to replace my airbag because they did not have the parts for it and did not know when they would get the parts. That was about 4 years ago. Recently, I called the same FORD dealer and made an appointment via a text message to get the airbag…

The faulty airbag is unable to be replaced due to Ford not being able to get replacement parts. It puts me at risk every day that I drive it because if I got into an accident and the airbag deploys, it can project metal shards into my body which can be life threatening or even cause death.

I live in Florida. It has been 15 months since Ford notified me that a second airbag needed replacing. I have not heard from them since then. This is not what I would consider a timely replacement. The truck is a 2011 and I'm 73 years old. I feel the Ford is trying to run out the clock on my repair.
