The auto idle start when I am at a red light it will turn off and put it in park. I have to restart the van and put it back in drive. I believe this to be a safety issue. I have my kids with me and its dangerous. I would like to know what can be done and why hasn't this been a recall. I have to remember to push the auto idle button each time I get in to drive otherwise Im afraid ill get stranded at an intersection. Its been going on for at least a year and the dealership…

On September 14, 2026, my 2020 Honda Odyssey experienced a sudden, severe low-pressure fuel pump failure while idling/parked. The engine began running extremely rough, surging repeatedly between 300 RPM and 1,000 RPM, knocking, and stalling. I was parked at the time, preventing a severe accident. Upon trying to restart, the vehicle turned over multiple times and would only catch when depressing the accelerator pedal, accompanied by cylinder knocking and an engine thermal…

Vehicle stopped at red light, idle start/stop stopped engine. At green light, upon pressing on gas engine started, vehicle ready to move, but stalled. This happened a few times. Took it to Honda who said they know about this issue and that the Isle start/stop is not a “perfect” system. Tried to sell me an expensive battery. Huge concern in terms of safety in a vehicle with children and stalling in busy streets.

Our Odyssey is equipped with idle stop. Sometimes when idle stop engages, the engine won't start again afterwards. We need to turn the car off completely, and then try again. Usually it turns on after doing so. We try to always turn off the idle stop when we start up the vehicle, but sometimes forget. This hasn't led to an accident yet, but has led to some angry vehicles when we can't move when a traffic light turns green. To be clear, this was not an isolated incident, but…

When pressing the accelerator, there is an extremely loud and abnormal noise coming from the fuel pump. The noise is so severe that it raises safety concerns while driving. The issue appears similar to fuel-pump–related problems reported in other recalled Honda vehicles.

My Vehicle was at the dealer for service in March of 2025. At that time they performed RECALL 23-008 although the vehicle did not have issues with the idle stop system. Since some time in June, at multiple occasions, the vehicle shifted to Park on its own when restarting from idle stop. Last night, the vehicle fully shut off and lost all electrical power when restarting from idle stop leaving me stranded in the dark at a busy intersection without the ability to turn on my…
