Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Pilot, and 2019-2023 Passport vehicles. Due to a faulty Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) communication coaxial cable connector, the rearview camera image may not appear on the display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the MOST cable harness and install a straightening cover over the vehicle cable connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are EEL, ZEM, and SFC.

I was driving forward in the left lane, no cars in front of me. A garbage truck parked in the middle yellow lane to my left, a moving city bus on my right lane, but they were a bit further back, not driving next to me. There was a cae behind me. Was going at 25mph, then suddenly the automatic brake stopped my car. I didn’t understand why. It happened for a good 3 seconds. Then I was able to continue forward. So scary!!! No one close to my left or right or in front of me. The…

During the incident, I was driving in snowy conditions at approximately 50 mph while entering a split lane. The vehicle began to skid, and shortly afterward I observed warning indicators activating. It appeared that vehicle safety systems, including stability or braking systems, engaged automatically. Over the next several seconds, I attempted…

I was at a 4 way stop on a quiet street, I stopped and then proceeded to move forward. As I was moving forward, in the middle of the intersection, the automatic emergency braking system activated which slammed on my brakes, involuntarily, in the middle of the intersection. There were no hazards in front of me that the vehicle would have detected as being a cause for braking. Thankfully, no one was coming through the intersection at the time from the perpendicular sides or…

My car unexpectedly did a phantom brake at high 60+ mph with no car in front of me. I was so nervous due to car behind me almost colliding into me.

Adaptive cruise control unexpectedly disengages. This has happened dozens of times, consistently every time I use the adaptive cruise control on the highway. My speed drops from the set speed (for example, 75 mph) down to 55 or 60 mph, at which point I realize it’s not going to come back on. This is extremely dangerous on the highway, and puts me at risk of being rear-ended by vehicles traveling at high speed.

For approximately 1 year the collision mitigation braking system will intermittently activate even when no hazards or objects are present in front of the vehicle. This has happened regardless of speed or any other conditions and has even happened while accelerating. There are no lights or warnings that present before the system activates. This poses a hazard of losing control of the vehicle or potential causing a crash due to the unexpected and sudden braking. This problem…
