Auto high beams redesigned from g2 to g3 models (mine is a 2022).. They do not work correctly. I know Honda had them working on my 2017 ridegeline, but engineering changes have made they inoperative. There is a multitude of complaints by almost every owner as there were none shipped that worked as designed. Honda support simply ask the owner to adjust the light sensitivity setting (low, med, high) but that is not the issue. While adjusting sensitivity may control the point at…

Their is an issue with the headlight assembly where condensation gets in obscuring headlight clarity and potentially damaging the head light assembly electrical components. My vehicle is only 3 years old, never been in a front end accident, and out of warranty and the dealer quoted $1,655.86 to replace it.

Courtesy and safety lighting installed to enter and exit car has never worked properly since the day of installation. It has caused me to slip on ice I could have other wise seen. had it been working properly. It broke within 30 days of the install. I've had Honda work on it 2 times under warranty and they could never get it fixed right. I feel they should refund money or repair it with light's that don't fail. Our Nissan has the same system and has never failed in 8 years…

When in the automatic headlight setting, when it is dark, the high beams turn on and off constantly and highbeam oncoming traffic regularly. The safety issue is highbeaming oncoming cars making it difficult for them to see and making them really angry at me. I have had the dealer look at it multiple times, I have even taken the issue to American Honda. They claim there are no sensor issues reporting and they recently drove the vehicle at night and feel what it is doing is…

Automatic headlight dimming does not function properly. In automatic mode it rarely turns on the high beam lights. If they are on anything bright such as a reflection from a road sign or bright building lights on the side of the road turns off the high beams. After they go off they rarely turn back on. I now only use them manually.

Auto high beams do not work properly, had a road rage incident with another driver as my high beams did not turn off, tye other driver was annoyed I was driving with high beams on.
NHTSA complaint #11567370 · source - Filed Jan 17, 2024MALighting
The auto headlight dimming is not functioning properly and blinds oncoming traffic quite frequently. This seems to be a known issue when investigated. It is a feature sold with the vehicle as standard equipment on this trim level. It is marketed as a convenience to assist with dimming if the operator misses the opportunity to dim for oncoming traffic. If I engage this feature, it rarely dims, and I am routinely flashed. It is concerning for the safety of the opposing…

The automatic high beam system is dangerous. When active, the system frequently blinds oncoming drivers because the high beams remain active.

The automatic high beam feature frequently does not dim with oncoming traffic and disengages for reflections such as road signs.
NHTSA complaint #11562907 · source - Filed Jan 1, 2024COLighting
When traveling on a dark road at night the auto high beam feature of the vehicle will dim the headlights when there is nothing around (no lights, no cars, etc) and it will also fail to reactivate the high beams after passing by a vehicle with their headlights on . This feature is utterly useless and is certainly a safety hazard as the high beams cannot be used in the auto mode because their function is sporadic and non-responsive to the surroundings.

The auto high beam head light function on the 2022 Honda Ridgeline does not work as expected and is a safety issue. They do not always dim for oncoming vehicles therefore "blinding" the person in the oncoming vehicle. This could potentially cause an accident. Please note they will sometimes dim from glare on a road sign but not always from an oncoming vehicle. Basically the functionality is erratic and does not work as expected. This has occurred since I purchased the…
NHTSA complaint #11555031 · source - Filed Apr 26, 2023NYLighting
This vehicle has automatic headlights which turn off and on plus are supposed to automatically dim the headlights when oncoming vehicles approach. They automatic headlight dimming feature not only doesn't work properly, they go to bright (high beam) when cars approach, instead of dimming. I have taken it to a Honda Dealer twice for repair. They said they could not duplicate the issue but admit they have no real test for this problem. This is a serious safety issue which…
