2019 Nissan Rogue recalls (3)
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:ANTI-THEFT:IMMOBILIZER/PROXIMITY:KEY/SENDER
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.
Risk: Driver contact with a key in the collapsed position could inadvertently shut off the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the vehicle shuts off while driving, the air bags may not deploy in a crash as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.
- ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM) · HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Rogue Hybrid vehicles. Contact with the Electronic Control Module (ECM) bracket may damage the engine harness, causing a blown fuse.
Risk: A blown fuse may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will install a harness protector cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R21B6.
- BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Risk: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

False Automatic Emergency Braking
NHTSA received a defect petition (DP19-001) from the Center for Auto Safety (CAS) on March 21, 2019 alleging that the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system on Model Year (MY) 2017-2018 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle. The CAS petition additionally alleges that, based on Nissan's actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue due to issuing a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) launching two "Quality Actions," and initiating a "Customer Service Initiative" in relation to it. CAS contends that Nissan's actions…

The fuel-filler door release/latch on my 2019 Nissan Rogue repeatedly fails to unlock. This problem has occurred intermittently for more than one year. When I stop to refuel, I sometimes have to press the fuel-door release button more than 30 times before the latch finally releases. There are no warning lights or messages before the failure. This could leave me stranded and unable to refuel the vehicle, including during an emergency or in an unsafe location. The vehicle is…

The vehicle displayed multiple warning messages, including “Warning Low Oil Pressure — Stop Vehicle” and a collision warning. The accelerator no longer operated the vehicle normally. After the vehicle was shut off, it would not restart. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership. The dealership initially could not communicate with the vehicle’s CAN system. After…

My car has 63k miles and I am told I need a transmission. This is a largely documented issue regarding defective cvt transmission on many many Nissan vehicles. Why is there no recall? Why do as consumers have to file a lawsuit and wait to be reimbursed. Is this not a safety issue? To be driving and have the car just stop?? Please issue a recall on these transmissions!

The Vehicle has developed this problem: the passenger-side door will not lock or unlock using either the key fob or the interior power-lock switch and has to be operated manually. Because the same failure has occurred on two consecutive model years, I am concerned this may be a recurring door-lock actuator defect rather than normal wear. I have a case number open with the Nissan Consumer Affairs. The case number is XXX. I also own a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV; the VIN number is…

On XXX I was traveling with my [XXX] mother who has 2 plates to her hips from a fx. We had stopped at a rest area. I went to get her out of the front passenger side and the door would not open from outside or inside. The other doors were fine. She is not able to climb over the front console so I called the police. They were able to get her over the front seat to the back. Very upsetting for this to happen. I went online to see what the issue could be and saw there is a class…
