2015 Van Hool CX45 recalls (5)
- VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR
ABC BUS Inc is recalling certain 1999-2013 Van Hool C2045, 2004-2013 Van Hool T2145, 2013-2022 Van Hool TX45, 2013-2023 Van Hool CX45, and 2016-2022 Van Hool CX35 vehicles. The front entrance door may have the incorrect glaze on the lower curb view window. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials."
Risk: The incorrect glaze may reduce the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and install a nontransparent vinyl cover over the window as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 20, 2026. Owners may contact ABC Bus customer service at 1-877-427-7278. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning April 30, 2026.
- SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY
Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain 2015-2018 CX45, TD925, TDX25, TX40, TX45, and 2016-2018 CX35 motorcoaches. The passenger seat belt buckles outer casing may fail leaving the seat belt buckles exposed.
Risk: The exposed seat belt buckles may reduce the seat occupants likelihood of using the seat belt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Van Hool will notify owners and dealers will replace the defective seatbelt buckles on the aisle side with flexible seatbelt buckles. The recall began on May 16, 2018. Owners may contact Van Hool customer service at 1-877-427-7278 or 1-407-656-7977.
- STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION)
Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain 2010-2014 C2045 and T2145 motorcoaches, 2014-2015 TX40 motorcoaches, 2014-2017 TX45 motorcoaches, 2011-2015 TD925 motorcoaches, 2014-2016 CX45 motorcoaches and 2010-2013 T2140 motorcoaches. When the vehicle is started in low temperatures, the steering wheel may be difficult to turn.
Risk: Reduced steering ability can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Van Hool will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering box, free of charge. The recall began on February 21, 2017. Owners may contact ABC Bus, Inc. at 1-877-427-7278. Van Hool's number for this recall is P826.
- STEERING
Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 C2045 and T2145; 2010 C3045; 2016 CX35; 2014-2016 CX45 and TX45; 2009-2016 TD925; 2015-2016 TDX25 and TX40 and 2010-2013 T2140 motorcoaches. In the affected vehicles, the front steering knuckle carriers may crack.
Risk: Cracking of a steering knuckle carrier may result in its total failure, allowing a wheel to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Van Hool will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering knuckle carriers that were produced from August 2009 through March 2011. Carriers that were produced from April 2011 to December 2014 will be inspected by ultrasonic measurement and replaced as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 19, 2017. Owners may contact ABC Bus, Inc. at 1-877-427-7278. Van Hool's number for this recall is P855. Note: This recall expands recalls 14V-569 and 15V-331.

Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) is recalling certain model year 2014 C2045, 2014-2015 CX45, TD925, TX40, TX45, and 2015 TDX25 coaches. The affected vehicles have front steering knuckle carrier that may break.
Risk: If the front steering knuckle carrier breaks, the coach wheel may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: ABC Bus will notify owners on behalf of Van Hool, and dealers will inspect and replace the affected steering knuckles, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 6, 2015. Owners may contact ABC Bus at 1-877-427-7278. Van Hool's number for this recall is P750.

Seat Belt Buckle Casings may Fail
On March 30, 2018, Van Hool N.V. (Van Hool) notified the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) of a safety defect that exists in certain model year (MY) 2015-2018 CX45, TD925, TDX25, TX40, TX45, and 2016-2018 CX35 motorcoaches. The passenger seat belt buckle’s outer casing may fail, leaving the seat belt buckle mechanisms exposed. The exposed seat belt buckle mechanisms may reduce the seat occupants’ likelihood of using the seat belt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Seat belt latch failure
Through Early Warning Reporting (EWR) data review of 2016 Q1-Q3, several field reports were found that identified failures of seat belt latch casings on MY 2016 Van Hool motorcoaches.While reviewing the EWR data related to the latch issue, ODI was contacted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) regarding seat belt latch issues they discovered while investigating a crash between a train and a 2016 Van Hool bus in Biloxi, Mississippi.Through inspections of buses similar to the bus involved in the crash, the NTSB found that casing failures were occurring on seat belt latches manufact…
