I purchased this 2015 pickup as a preowned vehicle in March of 2022. Only a few months later and 2,000 miles, the service trailer brake system warning chime activated over and over again. This happened randomly without any apparent pattern. It happened primarily when no trailer was connected. It has continued to get worse and more frequent. Every time it would come on, I would stop on the highway and recheck the trailer connection and that was Ok. Every time that I get this alarm, I have no trailer brakes. This has happened for the last 3 years. This happens at any speed and in any road conditions and weather. My trailer is 9000# and without brakes it could be dangerous to stop. especially…
