  Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200, and model year 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles equipped with 2.4L engines. Due to abrasive debris in the balance shaft bearings, these engines may have a loss of engine oil pressure, possibly resulting in an engine stall or engine failure.

  Risk: If the engine stalls while driving it may increase the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine balance shaft module, free of charge. The recall began on December 24, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N52.

   While driving the car is in process.. the engine will suddenly stop (stall). I loose all power to the car and is unable to stop the car or control the speed or any other functions of the car.    The car randomly stalls while I am driving it. I lose all power to the car and the RPM's go to zero. I have to jiggle the fuse box and turn the key to the on position until I hear the fuel pump kick on, then I can start the car.     Coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign card jerks starters then shuts down. Almost got in an accident two or three times because of this safety situation I am having with the drivetrain and the engine stall. This happens all the time from the time I purchased the vehicle.

    For the past three months my car shuts off while driving for no reason without warning. Some times even when I am at a stop waiting for light to change while trying to accelerate to go it just shuts off and have to wait for some time to try to start it again.
