   Without warning the car completely shuts off. This is very dangerous because it happened on the freeway (luckily the cars slowed down behind me). It is intermittent and two different mechanics have not been able to detect the problem. Was there a recall on this issue? What can be done to make this vehicle safer to operate.    The engine shut off while driving. This has happened with my wife and myself over 20 times. I can shift it into neutral and restart the car. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times to start the car (again).     While driving in the city or in a highway all lights and engine stops also the steering wheel and the breaks harding you hardly steer it to the side road to stop the vehicle after few yards depends on the vehicle speed.
