Vehicle transmission slips in lowers gears and will not shift to help the vehicle accelerate. This put the vehicle at stand still on busy roads and will present a hazard. vehicle has approx. 86,000 miles. Called local Ford Dealerships (all are weeks behind) and vehicle will more than likely need a transmission rebuild or new/reman transmission.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping while parking or driving the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle lagged on the expressway and failed to accelerate to the intended speed. The local dealer was contacted but stated that the technician only at the dealer once per week and the dealer was 2–3 weeks behind schedule. An independent mechanic was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The manufacturer was…

10R80 transmission failure - the truck jerks in and out of gear and transitions between gear levels can be delayed by seconds causing lack of control

While driving on a residential road, my 2019 Ford F-150 (10R80 10-speed automatic with 88k miles) lost power to the wheels – the engine revved but the truck would not move. It did not recover after I shifted to reverse, then park, then shut the engine off and restarted. The vehicle had to be towed. This followed an earlier event on or around July 7, 2026 (at ~86,500 miles) where the transmission failed to downshift from 4th gear at a stop and stalled the engine, recovering…

The truck has 55,000 miles on it. The truck shifted very harshly when slowing down creating a traction hazard. The harsh shifting cannot be mitigated by adjusting how it is driven. After a few days a wrench symbol appeared on the dash screen while driving on the interstate, I immediately drove the truck to the Ford dealership after the wrench symbol appeared. Code P07F7 was recovered. I was told that the torque converter is bad and the CDF hub is failing. I was told that the…

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to shift into gear. The transmission was a hard shifting and vibrating. While driving 35-45 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the transmission was flushed and fluids were replaced. After 3 days, the failure reoccurred. The Ford customer service was contacted. The dealer informed…

2019 f150 with 115,600 miles equipped with 10r80 transmission recently experienced a 10th gear shift down to 1st gear while doing 65mph down a bridge almost causing a really bad accident. Since then truck has randomly and sporadically shifted out of higher gears into lower gears I cannot afford to repair a factory defect.

I am writing to formally escalate my ongoing complaint regarding my Ford truck and the repeated problems I have experienced with it over the years. At this point, this is no longer simply a matter of dissatisfaction with a dealership repair. I am asking Ford Motor Company at the corporate level to take responsibility for reviewing the complete history of this vehicle and the repeated unsuccessful attempts to correct the problems I have experienced. Most recently, my truck…

I had my Transmission serviced at my local Ford dealership. After the service I was told the vehicle may shift "weird" for a while as the computer learns my driving. During this time unbeknown to me the service caused my CDF drum to fail. In the time after the service the vehicle shifted hard, which I though it was "learning" as they stated it would. As I was driving I came to a redlight. When the light turned green I started to make my right hand turn. The vehicle moved…

I reported transmission issue to my dealer years ago. It started when I would start the truck in the morning and put it in reverse. It would do nothing than al of a sudden lunge in reverse. Than it would clear up and not do it for several months. I pretty much got the blow off from the dealer. Cold Oil, linkage sticking bs. Of course, now it’s out of warranty. The transmission shifts hard and even slips out of gear. It stalled tonight at a stop light because it banged into…

We were about 75 miles from the destination when going down hill the transmission would not shift to the lower gear until we were going to fast and then it would down sift very hard. While going up a hill it would down shift ok but as we got up to speed the transmission would not shift up but stay in the lower gear. Finally at very high RPM it would shift up to the higher gear with a very loud clunk. As soon as we got to our destination we took it to a ford dealer and they…
