While pulling into a parking lot at approximately 10–15 mph around sunset, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly engaged the brakes without any input from me. The abrupt braking caused all of my personal belongings inside the vehicle to be thrown forward. After pausing briefly to assess the situation, I cautiously applied light pressure to the accelerator. The vehicle responded, allowing me to slowly proceed and safely pull into a nearby parking space.

The Honda Sensing automated system suffered a phantom activation. It threw a visual brake warning, violently applied the brakes, and jerked the steering wheel causing a collision impact to other vehicles. This collision led to a major accident with an 18 wheeler and 6 additional cars. The car automated system has done this prior when there were no objects in front of the vehicle.

On June 17, 2026, at approximately 4:30PM, while driving to work for an event, my vehicle suddenly applied the emergency brakes right after a message appeared on my dash warning me to brake. There was no vehicle Infront of me that should have caused my car to brake so hard and suddenly. I have contacted the dealership and American Honda about the situation. The vehicle steering wheel feels stuck in position while driving, it releases the initial sticking feeling when I force the turn and it continues to feel stuck in place every time the steering doesn’t turn to either side and I try to turn again it requires extra force to release the stuck in place feeling. I took to dealership and asked if there was a recall and they told me only on newer models but not on my car model. The initial steering stuck in place causes delay when I…

Since April of 2024, my steering has been sticking when making the slightest of turns. It has progressively gotten worse. I initially thought that I needed power steering fluid but that did not correct the issue. This sticky causes my vehicle to veer to the left and right abruptly into other lanes. I am fighting to keep the vehicle straight. I can hear the sticking noise constantly due to the lack of lubrication in the steering gearbox. I am fearful that I may cause an…

Sometimes whenI go to brake the brake pedal goes all the way up and I can’t press it down to stop the vehicle. This only lasts a few seconds then the brakes return to normal. I believe this may be due to a previous recall. “A common brake issue reported with the 2019 Honda Civic is a potential problem with the brake system due to a faulty tie rod fastener connecting the brake master cylinder and brake booster, which could result in improper braking and is currently subject…

I was driving straight going 35mph on a 2 lane rd when my steering wheel starting making a weird noise & almost was shaking. The steering wheel then locked up to the left & wouldn’t move. This caused my driver side tire to go into the curb, & at this point my steering wheel was spinning in circles & all I could do was brake. After bumping off the curb I then was thrusted back over to the right lane (due to having no steering control) where I came to a stop grazing another…

I was stopped at a red light in the left-hand turn lane, waiting to turn left. Light turned green and I accelerated turning left. The car suddenly braked with no car or obstruction in my path. No collision mitigation light warnings came on. The car just slammed on the breaks!! Dealer service manager told me over the phone that unless a code comes up, they really can’t diagnose the issue. I believe this is a design flaw and not an issue with my car that can be addressed by…
