Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. Water may enter the outer door handle cables for the sliding doors. If this occurs, the outer door handle cables may freeze in cold temperatures, preventing the front and rear sliding door latches from securely latching.

Risk: A power sliding door that fails to latch may open while moving, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power sliding door outer handle cables, free of charge. The recall began September 23, 2020. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is A88.

The power sliding driver-side (left rear) door latch assembly on my 2019 Honda Odyssey has experienced a complete mechanical and electrical failure. There were absolutely no warning signs, dashboard lamps, or messages prior to the door suddenly malfunctioning. The built-in closer motor now completely fails to cinch or suction the door shut, preventing it from securing safely into the vehicle frame and triggering a persistent error message on the dashboard after the failure…

2019 Honda Odyssey VIN: [XXX] The same passenger-side door window on my 2019 Honda Odyssey has spontaneously shattered on two separate occasions. There was no known collision or impact that would explain the repeated failure. Because the same window has now shattered twice, I am concerned there may be an underlying issue involving the glass, door/window assembly, regulator, alignment, or stress being placed on the glass. This window is immediately beside the seating position…

The rear latch on the passenger sliding door has stopped latching. The part seems rusted out, and the door doesn't stay closed. It actually slid open a few inches while we were driving. The door does not stay latched. Our daughter was sitting next to the door and was afraid of falling out.

Rear lift hatch has failed. Everytime when opening the trunk rear hatch door it refuses to stay open and comes back down closing. This closing happens even with resistance and would injure or kill a child. The trunk shuts unless significant force is out upon it to stay open in which case case it sags and does not remain open at normal height. This is a part failure and Honda should recall for safety and replace.

The passenger sliding door randomly will not close with close button. The door will get 1/2-2/3 closed and then re-open. This happens intermittently and under no particular circumstances. There is occasionally a "door problem" light that flashes on the dash while driving.

While operating the left power sliding door of my 2019 Honda Odyssey, the door came off its tracks during normal use. As the door disengaged, the rear-side glass shattered. The failure required replacement of the power sliding door drive motor, center roller, center roller rail assembly, and rear glass. Broken glass was scattered inside and outside the vehicle, and I sustained a small cut on my hand while cleaning up the shattered glass. The vehicle had approximately 78,000…
