Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
Risk: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Final remedy owner letters will be mailed in phases, beginning in June 2026 and expected to continue through December 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 13, 2025.

This vehicle has had an open recall for seat belts for over a year. We have had issues with the seat belts and stated that to our local hyundai shop in Farmington, NM multiple times. Even when the car has been in for other things. The only thing they can tell us is that the seatbelts are on backorder and they do not know when they will be in. Then they give us a print out stating the vehicle has an open recall. Like really, we know that you can't seem to fix it. My daughter…

My Hyundai Palisade is subject to Recall 283 (NHTSA Recall 25V607000) involving the seat belt system. The affected seat belt has exhibited sticking and binding issues. On at least one occasion, the belt became so tangled and stuck that I had to use pliers to free it. Children regularly use this seating position. I have contacted my Hyundai dealership, Circle Hyundai in Shrewsbury N.J., approximately 4-5 times over the past several months seeking recall repairs. Each time I…

Hyundai has had an active recall involving seat belts for several months. I have attempted to have this repair to no avail. I started with my local dealership and was told the parts to make this repair are not available. I have filed a complaint with Hyundai of America and have a case manager who calls me every few weeks to says that the parts continue to be back ordered. My concern is that Hyundai is not dealing with this recall in good faith. I take my young grandchildren…

Drive Seat Seatbelt unbuckles when driving. This has happened in the past lets say like every few months. In the month of April it happened twice in 1 week and the following week 5/2/26 1 time. This is a huge safety risk. Last time our vehicle went in for an oil change- dealership said there is no fix for this at this time. I filed a complaint with Hyundai XXX 5/3/26 after happened the day before. Because this vehicle’s restraint system may be unsafe to operate, I am…

The issue was documented by the dealership on March 28th, 2025. A recall was later issued confirming a defect in the seatbelt buckle assemblies that may prevent proper latching and increase the risk of injury in a crash. The vehicle has multiple unresolved safety recalls involving the seatbelt system and the airbag system (ejection mitigation/side curtain airbags). These are critical occupant protection systems that are designed to protect passengers during a crash.
