Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.
Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.

The driver-side windshield wiper arm/attachment system malfunctioned. This is the same component area addressed by Hyundai Safety Recall 243 (NHTSA Recall 23V-180). The dealership documented that the driver-side “wiper arm nut backed off causing wiper arm to come off car.” Photographs also show damage/wear to the internal splined mounting area of the wiper arm. The dealership tightened the retaining hardware and returned the existing wiper arm to service rather than…

The sunroof spontaneously broke while driving on the interstate at an estimated speed of 70 mph. There was no severe weather issues or traffic issues. Glass did make it into the car, in both the drivers and passenger seat. Unsure if it made it to the back seat where a [XXX] baby was in a car seat. Called McCarthy Hyundai and they told us to take it somewhere else that it was not under warranty. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.…

We were driving down the road and heard a loud pop and then heard glass falling onto the sunroof sunshade. My sunroom exploded out of nowhere, nobody in front of me, no trees or structures above us. Just spontaneously shattered.

My driver windshield wiper stop working when driving. It was snowing out and it stopped working. Dealership has been notified. Put myself and my children in the car at risk because I was unable to see out the window. There was no warning light that came on, did not smell differently, just stopped working. Nothing has been inspected as it happened less than 24 hrs ago. Dealer has been notified. They said someone will call me back. Have not heard from the device manager yet.

Windshield wipers got crossed in the middle of snowstorm. Drivers side wipers not working properly since. The windshield wipers on my 2022 Palisade are crossing and failing in snow, which is the exact safety defect described in Recall 243. Even though it's listed as closed, the part has failed and it's a safety hazard. Now the cars wipers will not work properly in heavy rain or snow. Reached out to both local dealerships and Hyundai customer care. 1 local dealership refused…

2022 Hyundai Palisade had issue with wipers (stopping at 5 inch from designated place), it was reported and repaired previously in 2023 by Hyundai Dealer. However, recently after cold weather, drive side wiper arm was bent inward and passenger side wiper was not working. It is physically impossible for some one to bend wiper arm inwards and provided Hyundai with pictures and Dealer is claiming improper use even when we didn't touch or changed wipers previously. There was a…

To date, the windshield has cracked and required replacement three times. This has happened in August 2023, Sept 2024 & May 2025. The first instance was caused by a small chip resulting from a visible impact. However, the subsequent two replacements occurred without any known cause or visible damage, suggesting a potential defect in the windshield's design or material integrity. This ongoing problem is not only inconvenient and costly, but also raises serious safety…

I was driving along the feeder road entering the on-ramp of the highway, going about 45 mph, when I heard a loud explosion coming from inside my vehicle. I was obviously startled and my first thought was maybe my kids left a soda bottle in the car and the pressure caused the bottle to explode. It was then I noticed broken glass all over the interior of my vehicle, as well as on my person. It was a clear, sunny day, about 75 degrees, so no extreme weather. There were no…

I was driving on [XXX] in Florida when it started raining heavily, I turned on my wipers when all of a sudden my drivers side wiper stopped working. My passenger side worked fine. My driver side wiper was recalled and "fixed" Nov 9,2023. Not even a year later it is not working again. This is something that is completely dangerous, not being able to us my wipers while driving when needed is horrible. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5…

I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few…
