The contact owned a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed with both feet, but the brakes failed to engage properly. The vehicle slid and jumped, and the brakes made a grinding sound. No warning light was illuminated. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle in front. The air bags deployed. The contact experienced neck pain, and her husband suffered a burn mark from the air bag…

My 2025 Hyundai Palisade intermittently experiences an abnormally high engine idle of approximately 1,500 RPM during the first few minutes of driving. The condition occurs randomly and is not present on every trip. While stopped at stop signs or intersections with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I can feel the engine pushing against the brakes because of the elevated idle speed. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates forward significantly faster than it…

While driving over a bumpy service road to enter a highway, the ABS and traction control systems reacted and applied braking which caused me to have no control of my brakes and I was unable to stop my car and entered the highway without the ability to stop at the stop sign. Fortunately, there were no cars coming, had there been, myself and others could have been injured and my vehicle and others would have been damaged. I have reported this to my dealership, Safford…

When exiting a parking lot going about 6 miles an hour I approached a stop sign. When I attempted to stop my vehicle the antilock brakes engaged and vehicle would not stop. I pressed harder on the brake but it did nothing. The vehicle finally did stop but I was half a car length into the street. I was terrified. Fortunately there was no oncoming vehicle. This terrifies me because I frequently have my grandchildren it the car, the reason we bought a large vehicle.

When I was pulling out of my driveway heading out of the neighborhood. Approaching the stop sign I applied my SUV brakes and it fail. I had to push the neutral button to take it out of gear. My current speed was approximately 25 to 30 mph. I was heading towards a ditch and almost crashed into the ditch. Took the car to the dealership. The dealership inspected and the intake vacuum line that controls the brakes fail part was defective. Dealership had to order the part. It…

Since the first week of driving my vehicle in August, I have reported to the dealership that it rides fairly bumpy over any road and fails to properly break if it is a bumpy road, causing me to almost have a collision. The dealership was unable to reproduce the same issue I was having and says that my car drives just fine. No messages have popped up

In general even in slow speed the emergency break kicks in and actually the vehicle is sliding and not stopping. Now in the snow when you try to stop again the vehicle is shaking and sliding instead of stopping
NHTSA complaint #11704935 · source - Filed Dec 4, 2025MNBrakes
Antilock braking system is malfunctioning. Significant increase in stopping distance, and especially on uneven or wet surfaces. The car shutters and shakes while stopping. We have almost hit a deer, had trouble stopping at intersections, and did not stop in a timely manner while behind another vehicle. General fear knowing if brakes are firmly pressed that the car is unable to stop quickly (as expected with other vehicles).

I have 25 Palisade calligraphy and from the last two months I almost went 7-8 times to the dealership because of the ABS issue. When going over rougher road, railroad tracks, and also uneven surfaces brake is not working at that time. It is an issue that only happens under very specific conditions like slow speeds (under 10 mph), uneven surface (gravel, railroad tracks, speed bumps, driveway entry). Acts like ABS is activated but it the car isn't acknowledging that it is. I…

I had brought my car in because it feels like the antilock brakes kick in on uneven surfaces. I was told there is no issue. This happens again 2 days ago. I have had it happen where I almost hit the person in front of me, the car will not stop. Dry roads. It’s on bumpy roads, more often is a slight downhill. No lights on dash for antilock brakes coming on.

A dangerous and unpredictable braking issue has plagued my brand-new SUV (under 5,000 miles). On multiple occasions, the brakes have engaged suddenly and without warning while driving, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly in the middle of the road. This creates a hazardous situation with the potential for rear-end collisions, putting my family at risk and causing back pain to my passengers. The same problem also occurs when parking. The dealership requires a five-day service…
