  SUSPENSION:REAR:SHOCK ABSORBER

  Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. Due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks may detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components, the tire or result in reduced braking.

  Risk: Damage to the tire or reduced braking increases the risk of a vehicle crash.

  Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear shocks and replace any affected ones, free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P37.

   The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the vehicle was lower to the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the air suspension needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

   Starting to turn left and the power steering stopped working and made me go straight. Took it to dealer and checked out Power steering rack.    The air suspension system on the truck fails, it will not raise. I’ve replaced almost all the components of the air suspension system and it’s still not working. The system fails in any type of weather but often it does so more in winter. System has been reset multiple times.
