Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Risk: Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 vehicles manufactured January 24, 2014, through February 5, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the transmission case may have been improperly machined which can result in the park pawl not properly engaging when the transmission is in the 'Park' position.
Risk: If the park pawl does not properly engage, the vehicle may rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash and occupant or pedestrian injuries.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the transmission, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 21, 2014. Owners may contract Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P13.

When driving down the road, the engine will completely shut off. Attempt to pull it over in a safe spot. The radio and four ways are still functional. Once we are stopped on the side of the road, the vehicle puts itself into park and am unable to restart the vehicle for 10 to 15 minutes. Upon restarting the vehicle, everything runs normal until it does it again. It can go weeks or even a couple hours. It has almost caused a crash several times due to randomly powering down…

With no warning my truck lost all anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, trailer brakes, and 4x4 capability (computer will not allow 4x4 to engage). This is due to an "abs module" failure. Ram/Dodge has no new units available to repair this faulty part and no ETA on if/when they will be available. There was thankfully no accident with this failure but obviously, it could lead to one. Especially since the part cannot be fixed. Owners are left with scavenging…

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power steering while in operation, creating a safety concern due to reduced ability to control the vehicle. At the time of failure, multiple electrical and control module faults were present. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership, which diagnosed the issue as requiring rack and pinion replacement. The owner paid out of pocket for this repair. Dealership documentation shows the steering failure occurred alongside multiple…

The recall for the loss of signal from the tone ring in recall 66A was supposed to allow the vehicle to use the signal from the camshaft positioning sensor. This recall was completed on my truck but the loss of signal from a bad tone ring has resulted in the same condition as the original recall which is inoperability of the vehicle. This still poses a safety threat as the recall did not correct the issue. The manufacturer is now claiming that the recall period is expired…

The magnetic material on the tone wheel detached causing a crank position sensor error code (P0336) and subsequent misfire while accelerating into traffic. The software had been updated per recall W58 (NHSTA 20V-475). Vehicle could be restarted but lacked full power. The vehicle is out of warranty, however, Stellantis directed that a dealer make repairs, customer pays out of pocket ($3200), and claim be submitted for reimbursement. The abs module for this vehicle has failed and is a major safety hazard. A known issue that has been on going with this particular part for years. I myself have waited over 6 months with a lemon of a truck because the part is on back order. The electric power steering (EPS) system on my 2014 Ram 1500 has intermittently failed, most recently when transitioning from idle, such as leaving a parking lot, and during deep turns. This marks the third time I've experienced steering-related issues with this truck. Each time the EPS fails, a "Service Power Steering" alert appears, and the steering becomes extremely difficult, posing a serious safety risk, especially in situations requiring precise maneuvering or sudden…

I had my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel serviced for a recall regarding the crankshaft position sensor, recall 66A/NHSTA 23V-411 in December of 2023. The recall calls for an update to be downloaded to the crankshaft position sensor to allow it to continue functioning when the adhesive fails on the magnetic strip on the tone wheel. In January of 2025 I was driving down the road when the Service Electronic Throttle Control System light came on. I immediately lost power, my truck…
