  General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Cadillac XT4 and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The vehicles may have the wrong owner's manual in the glove box. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

  Risk: The wrong owner's manual may contain inaccurate information about vehicle functions and other safety relevant information, which could lead to improper operation of the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

  Remedy: Dealers will provide owners with the correct manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac's customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242454040.

   Purchased used with 30k miles and under factory bumper to bumper warranty. Noted noise when turning right slowly into parking space from front suspension as well as pop sound while going over speed bumps. Dealer replaced 3 axles (2 driver side) and confirmed noise present. Also replaced strut assembly in front which did not assist. Suspension issue unresolved to date and GM Field Tech suggests “operating to spec”.    The automatic emergency braking system suddenly engages without any obstacles/pedestrians in the roadway causing the vehicle to completely stop. The vehicle is at the dealership at this time; it is unknown if the dealer can confirm the issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. There was a warning light flashing directly before the incident(s).

   I was driving down the road and my vehicle lost power and quit running. Luckily I was in the lane closest to the shoulder and was able to pull over on the shoulder and was not able to restart my vehicle, but had this happened in another location this could have been a huge safety problem for me and others with the vehicle completely losing power while driving in the middle of traffic on highway 27.    Vehicle died leaving the doctor's office due to faulty fuel pump driver control module. Upon research found that this has been an ongoing issue for several years affecting many GM vehicles. Vehicle can stall at any time in traffic causing serious injury or death. Apparently GM does not have a fix for this problem & the company's solution is to replace the faulty module with modules that have the same defects.    The vehicle has a chronic defect causing rapid, repeating front-end suspension and steering assembly failures.    I was getting out of a parking lot with my 3 kids and the car shut off right in the middle of the entrance/exit of the lot blocking anyone from coming in or out.
