Trucks driver side rear window which is a three-piece window with a sliding window in the middle has shattered apparently due to a defect or fault in the rear window fogger. I had my son in the back at one point and put the defogger on, and it started smoking and nearly caught on fire. No warning on either incidences and they did not occur at one time but about two days apart.

Used the remote start feature to warm up my truck (automatically turns on rear defrost). Upon entering the vehicle I could smell smoke. While driving I turned around and noticed smoke pouring from rear window. I turned off the rear defrost and the window exploded! I contacted the dealer and they claimed the recall had already been completed and they could not assist me.

Was on my way to work the morning of 11/11/23, the rear window defroster was on. I saw in the rear-view mirror smoke at the rear window. The smoke only lasted a few seconds. About 10 seconds after the smoke stopped there was a loud bang inside the truck. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the right-side glass in the slider had shattered. My 2015 Silverado was started up remotely to warm up during an icy day. The truck had already been driven a few hours earlier. When I stepped in the truck I heard sizzling. About a minute later I smelled and saw smoke from the passenger rear seat area. I turned the truck off, but when stepping back in after investigating and moving it from the road the passenger side rear window broke. No warning was given for this to happen.
