I am reporting a loss-of-coolant and rough-running condition consistent with coolant intrusion into the cylinders, the defect described in Ford TSBs 19-2208, 19-2346, 22-2133, and 22-2229, and the subject of NHTSA defect petition DP26008. The engine has unexplained coolant loss with no visible external leak. It also has a rough start. A stored diagnostic code was present; I believe it was P0302, signalling a misfire in cylinder 2 and P0316, signaling misfire detected on…

Coolant intrusion into cylinder 2 of the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, confirmed by an independent mechanic. In early July 2026, at about 107,100 miles, the check engine light came on. The engine ran rough and shook on cold starts, and a scan showed misfire codes P0302 and P0304. The coolant reservoir was almost empty, but there was no external leak: cardboard under the engine stayed dry overnight. Coolant gurgled behind the dash after each cold start. I logged the engine with an…

My 2017 Ford Edge EcoBoost, with approximately 118,824 miles, began experiencing rough starts accompanied by white exhaust. On one occasion, the vehicle also experienced a loss of power while being driven. Shortly afterward, the check engine light illuminated. 99k miles on it, just got diagnosed with coolant intrusion and it needs an entire motor. My warranty company is refusing to pay for it due to MANUFACTURER FLAW AND DEFECT. So now I’m left paying a monthly car note on a car that’s sitting in my driveway. Single mom just lost her thought to be reliable transportation to take care of her family. Don’t have 10-11 grand to spend on it. Ford knows about this defect and isn’t doing anything about it.
