Vehicle began a slight engine miss and acceleration hesitation occasionally. Over a year it began to be more often. I had the car in for maintenance several time to diagnose the problem but the engine light never came on there was no code. After another year it became worse and the engine light came. The mechanic says that a cylinder has water intrusion from the cooling system. The mechanic states that the vehicle needs a new engine. Research shows this is a common problem…

I own a 2018 Ford Edge with a 2l Eco Boost motor. I bought it 3 months ago. The car now has 39,000 miles on it and the engine started bucking and cutting out as I drove down the rode. I took it to the dealer and they said it is coolant intrusion. They have to replace the engine at a cost of $10,000. After reaching out to Ford they refuse to cover or even help cover the cost. The defect is a well known design flaw and is well documented on the internet. I think they need to…

My 2018 Ford Edge with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine has approximately 80,000 miles. The vehicle recently experienced a significant loss of engine coolant with no visible external leak found. The coolant level was extremely low when checked. While driving the vehicle, the engine began running very rough and the check-engine light started flashing, indicating a severe misfire. Because of the sudden change in engine operation and concern about possible engine damage or loss of…

Coolant leaking directly into the engine’s combustion chambers. Mechanical failure, not a simple leak: coolant crosses from the cooling jacket into the cylinders themselves, fouling combustion instead of regulating temperature. The defect traces to the engine block and cylinder head design, combined with a head gasket seal, inadequate. The resulting symptoms as a sudden, significant loss of power paired with an “Engine Coolant Over Temperature” warning on the dashboard,…
