    TIRES

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 F-150, 2018-2020 F-250, F-350, and 2019 Escape vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.

Risk: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S10.

Was told the lugnuts were swollen when I tried to have tires rotated. The repair shop is mainly and oil repair shop. I took it to the dealership I purchased the car from and was told this is a major issue they deal with everyday and Ford has not issued a recall. I have to replace with my own money and labor costs. I have to have it done but think Ford should address this issue as if I had a flat tire somewhere in a remote area I could not get tire off with wrench provided…

Bought 4 new tires from Costco Dec 2023. June 2024 tire rotation showed 5/32 and 6/32. after only 7K miles. Finally in June 2025, after ONLY 17,312 miles driven the tires were at 3/32. Filed a warranty claim. Costco did the best they could, but in the end, I now have to buy new tires. In the last six months fourteen of sixteen original equipment lug nuts have had to be replaced because they were "swollen". The dealer was able to do this work but I am concerned for the times when I was not having the vehicle serviced. What if I had had a flat tire and could not change the tire because of this issue? This would put me and the vehicle at risk to find a place of safety to replace the tire.
