Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Mustang Mach E vehicles. The rear differential pinion shaft may fracture.

Risk: Differential pinion shaft fracture may result in a loss of drive power, or unintended vehicle movement if the vehicle is in park without the parking brake applied, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will repair or replace the rear differential assembly as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late December 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S50.

The defect appears to involve the high-voltage battery system, powertrain system, and High Voltage Battery Junction Box (HVBJB). The vehicle and related components are available for inspection upon request. My vehicle experienced failures on May 28, 2026, June 25, 2026, and October 1, 2026. While I was driving the brakes did not work. I had to slam on the brakes in order to stop the car. The back portion of the car then skid. The following warnings were sent to the phone and appeared on the dashboard as well. There were more on the dashboard but since I was driving I focused on trying to maneuver the car and not reading the dashboard. Not knowing what happened I continued to drive to duplicate the issue. The brakes were consistently only working when slamming…

After stopping the vehicle to run an errand, the vehicle locked up. The steering wheel would not turn. The vehicle would not shift into any gear. The vehicle was inoperable and I found myself stranded 25 miles from home. The vehicle was towed to our local Ford dealership where it has been for the past two weeks. This failure could just as occurred on the road causing a dangerous situation.

When the "High voltage junction box" malfunctions it can leave you stranded in an unsafe situation. Ford has been replacing them but the new ones also fail. A more robust HVJB should be demanded to avoid putting the public at risk.

The car stopped charging at 59 percent of the battery capacity. The vehicle has only 2800 miles on it. Also got a power train malfunction/ reduced power warning as well and a service wrench when you turn on the car. This high voltage battery warning is a known issue on 2022 as I had it happen to…
