    Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. On September 26th, 2026 I got a random notification about needing to get my rear left turn signal checked out as it still functions but blinks rapidly. Today, September 28th, 2026, I visited my local dealership for the issue and was informed that they had received a bulletin regarding the concern but that instead of covering the defect tied to a "software anomaly", I was told it would be around $600 to replace. I feel this is a strong enough safety issue that should be…

Well, let’s try this again. The first try disappeared. The rear hatch seal on the vehicle has identical spots on both sides of the hatch that are mashed flat. I think this is being caused by the flat spots on the hatch itself. The vehicle is a total body and engine redesign. The flat spots allow for dust intrusion into the cabin all the way to the front of the cabin. We live on a gravel road, so we can see the intrusion, albeit it took a while to figure out where it was…

Today, on [XXX] outside of Sapulpa Oklahoma, while in the inside lane of three southbound lanes, cruise control on at 80mph. The car suddenly reduced power, air conditioning stopped, assisted power brakes stopped working, gauge cluster full of flashing warnings. Pulled to the right shoulder, stopped with difficulty. Had to pump and stand on brakes to get stopped. Shut off engine, then restated and everything stated working again. Scary situation in heavy traffic. Lucky to be…

When backing into my driveway the brakes failed. I was nosing the car across the street towards the neighbors driveway so I could put the car in reverse and back it into the driveway. I applied the brakes while traveling at about 3-4mph when the brakes had little resistance and went straight to the floor and the vehicle continued moving forward. Attempted to apply brakes again and the same result. Ended up hitting the neighbors parked car in their driveway. Luckily it was a…

2024 GMC Acadia grounded at dealership for 3+ weeks due to unavailable driver seat belt buckle (Part 26522477), rendering a brand-new vehicle legally un-driveable due to primary restraint part constraints. The buckle will not latch, causing the seat belt to be rendered inoperable. The problem was reproduced by the dealership, and the replacement part is backordered.

At low speeds the brakes squeal horrendously. We have taken the vehicle to the dealer multiple times and each time they state that the brakes are fine. A vehicle with this low of miles should not have squealing brakes since new.
