I own a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation. The front upper grille molding/trim has become loose and is separating from the vehicle. The attachment points/clips are no longer securely holding the molding in place. I am concerned that the molding could completely detach while driving, particularly at highway speeds, creating a road hazard for other motorists. The vehicle has not been involved in a collision or other event that would explain the failure. I have photographs…

I was driving home from family’s house 2 hrs away and got home late. When I got home I noticed the upper front grille assembly or top chrome trim piece for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate flew off at some point while driving. That could have caused an accident for others and myself but luckily no one is harmed.

While driving at highway speed in normal traffic, the upper front grill deflector detached from the vehicle and struck the windshield, cracking the windshield. This appears consistent with the defect that is the subject of Safety Recall N24290120.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65–70 MPH, the bumper air deflector, metal tabs, and screws detached and struck the front windshield. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was made…

I was driving down the highway and the top grill trim 84957848 part number, flew off. Hit my windshield. Could’ve caused the small car behind me to blow a tire or damaged their vehicle.

top grill deflector flew off at highway speeds creating a safety hazard for me and others in the highway. 2022 GMC Sierra with the same part and grill was previously recalled for this identical issue. 2022-2026 models have the same problem and should be included in the recall. Please see Safety Recall N242490120

The front upper grille deflector detached and hit my windshield and bounced off behind me during a drive at normal highway speeds. This created a random flying debris object that appears to have been a problem with the 2022 and later Sierra 1500 models; however, the recall only appears to address the 2022 model. It also appears quite common for the 2024 year model as well. Vehicle has never been in an accident so nothing beyond typical use would have caused damaged to the…

The front upper grille broke off and detached at highway speeds. The grille impacted the hood, causing a scratch and dent and became a road hazard and has the potential to cause an accident. This is the same failure reported in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V-060 that only covers 2022 model years. Research online indicates failures in 2022, 2023 and 2024 vehicles. GMC to date will not warranty or recall this gross safety violation.

While driving 65mph in my 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate on Interstate 270 in Hilliard, Ohio my chrome grill deflector just flew off and hit my windshield. It then went over my truck and almost caused a major accident with the cars and semi-trucks behind me. I was lucky to maintain control of my own vehicle! It appears to me that the mounting fractured and it looks like manufacturing defect. Looks like the same issues recalled in 2022 year models. How many have to die…

I was driving on the highway (using cruise control) when the front bumper grill started vibrating (so I tried to slow down) but it kept flapping and flew off before I was able to pull over. I then pulled over on the shoulder and had to walk back to retrieve it. My safety was put at risk because it could have hit my windshield and caused me to have an accident, or, it could have hit someone or another vehicle. I have it and it is available for inspection. It has not been…

I was driving down the highway at 65-70mph and the top part of the grill flew off, causing scratches to the wind shield. There’s has been a recall on this for 2022 GMC 1500 Sierra’s but I am driving a 2024 and the issue is still the same.
