Sometimes when driving the automatic brakes will turn on and the car will suddenly brake hard. This has happened a few times now. I had a few close calls with drivers almost rear ending me because of this. This seems to happen randomly as it always happens in different areas. There were a few times there was nobody else on the road other than me and the automatic brakes would kick in. I put in the date of the last time this occurred to me. This is a reoccurring issue that…

My 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid is experiencing the widely documented 'sticky seering' medhanical defect, causing the vehicle to momentarily catch, stick and jerk at highway speeds, creating a severe overcorrection and crash hazard. The dealership (Skyway Honda Bartlesville, OK) confirmed the rack and pinion system is failing but wants to charge me almost $4789.87 in parts/labor to repair it because Honda corporate has not yet extended the official 24v-744 recall to the 2022 model…

My 2022 CRV steering wheel sticks when driving and does not want to turn and is difficult to steer causing me to have to force the wheel and nearly wreck my car. The steering wheel also feels loose and spins around and round while at a stop. The steering wheel knocks/pops during a hard turns. Since this a safety issue well documented online for Honda CRV 2022-2025, I would expect for there to be a recall, but there is not one on my 2022 CRV even though I have been…

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at a very slow speed in heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly experienced "Phantom Braking" causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road, causing a second vehicle to almost crash into the rear end of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 18,540.

The issue involves the driver’s-side blind spot monitoring system. In my experience, the system does not recognize or alert me to vehicles approaching from behind in the adjacent lane until they are nearly even with the driver’s door. In many situations, the blind spot warning light does not illuminate while a vehicle is occupying what most drivers would reasonably consider the blind spot area. Instead, the alert often appears only after the vehicle is already alongside my…

Sticking steering, mainly at higher speeds. Dealer said it showed no codes. They said they could not make it do it, but it continued after inspection. I had another person drive and they noticed right off on the interstate that the steering was sticking and making vehicle shift across lane on its own. It does it all the time at any speed more noticeable higher speeds.

The vehicle automatically and suddenly slammed on the brakes when a deflated mylar balloon floated across my lane. It braked hard for several seconds then released the brakes as the balloon cleared my lane. I felt like I had no control of the vehicle until the brakes released. The car following closely behind me could have hit me, since there was no apparent reason to brake. I have been unable to reach a service advisor at my dealership to report it. The vehicle has not been…

The most urgent issue with my vehicle is the automatic braking system. During several instances driving during the day and at night, my car has done what’s referred to as “phantom braking” where it detects something in the road, though the road is completely clear and open and the brakes engage and suddenly stop my car. It’s happened on occasions where it triggers the brakes lightly and it’s happened so intensely that my seat buckle has locked up throwing my head forward and…

While driving on a straight road at 35 mph the car suddenly and aggressively applied the brakes without driver input and without another car or obstacle in front of the car. Had there been a car behind me a rear collision would have been likely. The weather was sunny and there were deep shadows of trees cast on the road. This is the fourth time this has happened the past year. This is my first report to NHTSA.
