At approximately 93,000 miles, my vehicle experienced a sudden transmission malfunction. About one week before the failure, intermittent warning messages appeared for Emergency Braking Malfunction and Forward Collision Warning Malfunction. These warnings appeared and disappeared several times over multiple days. About three days before the major transmission issues began, the vehicle was taken to an authorized Toyota dealership in North Brunswick, New Jersey, for a routine…

While driving, the vehicle experiences unintended braking and refusal to accelerate. ABS, traction control, pre-collision system, and secondary collision brake warnings illuminate. Toyota dealer diagnostics documented ABS and brake system fault codes C1201 and C1A50. The vehicle also produces a loud whining/buzzing noise from the brake actuator area while stationary. Dealers have recommended transmission replacement despite active ABS/PCS fault codes and safety system…

Toyota camry began shifting rough and jerking when accelerating between 2nd and 3rd gear. Next there was an audible whine and rumble while the car was driving. This occured for approximately 1 week with no indicator lights. On January 1st, there was a total transmission failure and failure of automatic break system and the camry lost power when accelerating. The vehicle only had 64,000 miles and was outside of warranty.

On three separate occasions the Pre Collision System has inappropriately activated while driving at high speeds. It seems to occur during dusk/dark and when it is raining. Two out of the three times it applied the brake, which easily could have resulted in an accident. I inspected the wiring for one of the sensors underneath the hood which appears fine. The sensors were cleaned off in all of these instances.

The car randomly slams on the brakes even when you aren’t near anything. Yes it’s available for inspection. The safety problem is you could be rear ended at any time when this occurs. My husband was driving on the freeway at high speeds when it happened one time. The other incidents happened to me thankfully at a slower speed but while moving on the road. Also while pulling out or into parking spots. I know it is a safety feature so you don’t hit things but I know how to…

The lane assist is turned off, but it continues to operate against my wishes. I turned the lane assist on and off numerous occasions in an attempt to “reboot “ it. But the lane departure assist is still continuously on even when the dashboard indicates it is turned off. It is clearly an electrical or software problem.

When driving home I was doing about 25 mph when my car stalled and 5 or 6 display lights came on. ( secondary collision brake system malfunction, check engine, charging system malfunction, Lda malfunction and engine stopped steering power low.) so I costed into the nearest parking lot blocking an entrance to the facility, so I wouldn’t be blocking traffic on a busy 2 lane road at lunch time. So I then put car In park and shut it off and waited. I tried starting my car and it…

Next incident includes all of the above, except engine never recovered, and vehicle had to be towed to dealership. 6. Dealer service claims no issues revealed on diagnostic report.

VEHICLE STALLS AT HIGHER SPEEDS ON THE FREEWAY This problem happened 1 time on 7/22/23, 1 time on 7/23/23, and 5 times between 7/29/23 and 7/31/23 when traveling between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
