General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park.
Risk: An unlatched tailgate may open while driving and result in a loss of unsecured cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge. When shutting the vehicle off, I repeatedly get a “shift to park” error message. The truck will not shut down fully until this message goes away and can drain the battery. I have read this is a common Chevy problem in other models and others who I have talked to have the same issue. The local dealer wanted $170 just to scan it even though I feel they know the issue. The problem started right after the warrant expired and GM sent through a “software push notification” with no…

My steering feels loose and truck doesn't sways and wanders. It wasn't that way when I got it and I only put like 20000 miles on it. It shouldn't be having these issues. Other models 23-24 have a recall for this same issue.

Rear window leaks severely causing electrical issues. This is a known issue for almost 10 years now with multiple TSB’s about this problem across this vehicle platform. The repair for this is over $1000 often times. This should be a recall. We the consumers should not be stuck footing this bill when GM is well aware that this window causes issues and refuses to make a fix to keep this from happening. Especially, seeing that it typically does not seem to happen during the…
