The back up camera is inoperable at times. Rarely works on hot days or anytime the rear of the EDGE is facing the Sun. It hasn't worked properly for years. I'm not sure of the exact date or mileage it first happened, but it definitely started acting up around 2019.

When I put my 2013 Ford edge in reverse the backup camera goes out for about 5 to 10 seconds or it just doesn’t work at all. And also I just paid $672 to have the drivers side door latch replaced because the recall had expired in November of 2025 the door ajar light would stay on and the dash would say place vehicle in park

The safety system back up camera has been malfunctioning for 18 months. At times the image will be inverted, at times it will appear to be zoomed in very close, but most of the time it does not work at all. The alerts (beeping) that should be occurring when identifying a hazard do not work. The horn no longer works. Several times the entire electrical system will shut off and then reset. There have not been any warning lights on the dash to indicate why this is happening. My…

On Dec 11, 2025, the driver’s heated seat in my 2013 Ford Edge overheated within minutes of activation, causing first- and second-degree burns to the occupant. The vehicle was inspected on March 18, 2026 and escalated for management review, but the manufacturer failed to provide the promised follow-up by March 26, 2026, and the defect remains unresolved, posing an ongoing risk of injury. No problems prior to ever using the heated seats.

1. My safety system/camera system is no longer working properly. The screen displays either a black/blank screen, an inverted (upside down) image, or an image that appears to be zoomed in to a very small viewing area. The alerts (beeping) does not function consistently when backing up. The horn does not always work. At times the entire electrical display including the sound system will reset without prompting. The back door hatch will actively close even when there is…

The vehicle’s touchscreen activates functions on its own without being touched (“ghost touch”). While driving, the screen intermittently selects menus, changes settings, and activates features without driver input. This causes distraction and requires the driver to look away from the road to correct unintended changes. The issue occurs unpredictably and repeatedly, while in motion and standing still, indicating a malfunction of the touchscreen or related electronic system…

Climate control system turns off automatically without driver input. This causes loss of heating or cooling while driving and requires repeated manual reactivation. Issue occurs randomly while driving and has happened multiple times. Restarting the vehicle does not consistently resolve the problem.

The driver side passenger "door ajar" sensor stays on constantly and is unsafe because we aren't sure if the door is truly open or not? We are scared to have passengers sit on that side of the vehicle for fear of the door flying open and causing injury by falling out or other injury because the sensor does not tell us accurately as to whether the door is truly closed all the way or not. It also drains the battery over time due to constantly being on. This problem has been…

The rearview camera does not function properly. Most of the time, it shows a blank screen or nothing at all. Sometimes it tells me to contact the dealership. Other times, it shows the camera view but upside down. It puts myself and others at risk because I can't see clearly when I am backing up. The problem is covered by a known recall. However, my vehicle is not covered by the recall.

The rear back up camera intermittantly fails on this vehicle. About 70% of the time, it displays a black screen. The screen will display "Contact Dealership." This has been occurring for approx. 1 year.
