Back up camera displays upside down image when vehicle is placed in Reverse making it extremely difficult to determine images pertaining to the safe operation of my vehicle while performing backing up or checking for obstacles; i.e. pedestrians, pets, bicycles, nearby vehicles or other objects that can cause damage to my vehicle. My vehicle was purchased in 2025 and was informed that this has been a known issue by Ford but a recall has not been issued yet.

The safety system back up camera has been malfunctioning for 18 months. At times the image will be inverted, at times it will appear to be zoomed in very close, but most of the time it does not work at all. The alerts (beeping) that should be occurring when identifying a hazard do not work. The horn no longer works. Several times the entire electrical system will shut off and then reset. There have not been any warning lights on the dash to indicate why this is happening. My…

On the 2013 Ford edge I own the backup camera fails frequently and without warning. Sometimes the camera will not work at all when the transmission is placed in reverse, other times the camera will fail while during the process of backing up. Problem - does not work at all: When the car is placed in reverse the camera projects a blue screen then states the camera is not available, this happens when it does not work at all. Problem - shuts down while in use: Turns off while…

The backup camera glitches repeatedly. Have to put in park then reverse and repeat until it displays. When it is producing the error, the alerts are not received to assist with alerting the driver of any potential hazards and you are unable to see due to camera not working. Also, happened in our 2014 Ford Escape. Although I paid the dealership $600+ to replace it. Now receiving a notice for my 2017 Ford Edge regarding the malfunctioning camera and wondering why either of the…

This is on a 2013 Ford Edge with Adaptive Cruise Control. The brakes failed and went completely to the floor, putting the driver/passengers at danger along with other vehicles in the vicinity. The ABS control module with HCU is the part that failed. Ford part # CT4Z-2C405-A. Per the dealership and per Ford, this part is now obsolete and unavailable, which means the vehicle is currently unsafe to drive and unusable. Ford does not have any plan at the moment to correct this…

The brake booster had a recall but it should have never just have been the booster. The brake system on this is dangerous. I had the booster replaced and the valve got stuck in the HCU and cause brakes to fail. This has been a common issue amongst people and yet this is not a recall. The dealership just quoted me $3200. That's absurd for an issue thats obviously a common huge problem for people

The backup camera rarely works. It either has a black screen, an upside-down image or the image has lines through it. This puts me, my passengers and pedestrians in danger while trying to reverse out of parking spaces. There is a recall for newer Ford Edges but not for a 2013 so Ford is aware of the issue. I also previously owned a different 2013 Ford Edge and it had the same problems.

The rearview camera does not function properly. Most of the time, it shows a blank screen or nothing at all. Sometimes it tells me to contact the dealership. Other times, it shows the camera view but upside down. It puts myself and others at risk because I can't see clearly when I am backing up. The problem is covered by a known recall. However, my vehicle is not covered by the recall.
