Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.
Risk: A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

My vehicle has an active status under Ford Safety Recall 20S15 (NHTSA Campaign 20V177) for a fractured door latch pawl spring. The defect has fully manifested: my side door physically will not latch or stay shut. There was no warning that the latch has malfunctioned. I was driving and my door swung open when I made a turn. I’ve been trying to get my car serviced because of the safety recall involving the door latch. Unfortunately, my driver’s side passenger door won’t…

Lost ability to use the clutch pedal and could not pull the car out of gear while in traffic. I was told way back when that door latches had a defect. That there was a recall. Colonial ford of danbury ct avoided doing the complete recalls. Such is so that i paid out of pocket a transmission rebuild and took ford 2 years to reemburse me the cost. But the door latch recall was still in effect. It turns out that im getting a door open warning on dash while doors are closed. This was a defect recall going back 5-6 years but was never replaced. Now dealer tells me my car…

Transmission was supposedly rebuilt back July 26, 3021. Now transmission has had a new dual clutch replaced but other concerns are still there jerkiness on accelerations. In 2021 the transmission was not fully rebuild as per recall. Only clutch assembly was done and not the back end. Which now could be the problem. Second, colonial Ford sated transmission rebuilt has lifetime warranty which a lie. Colonial Ford doesn’t offer lifetime. The service advisors lie about this all…

Seat Belt retractor/pretensioner failed and was causing the passenger seatbelt light to go off. Had to repair due to automatic failing of inspection for this issue and the major safety issue this poses. Auto shop charged me $784.82 for today's repair and over $300 (don't remember exact amount, if claim moves forward I will contact them for another copy of that invoice) for a different repair on the seatbelt. I called Ford and they told me their 5 Year/60K warranty on the car…

I’m reporting a failure with the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in my 2014 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle has exhibited consistent issues tied to the known PowerShift DPS6 transmission defect: including gear slipping, delayed acceleration, hesitation, and sudden loss of power while driving—particularly dangerous during intersections or merging situations. Ford previously issued Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02 to address this issue, but I was told my VIN is no longer…

I own a 2014 Ford Fiesta. On June 23, 2025, I brought my car to McCarthy Ford in Chicago due to a check engine light and other concerns. I told them I didn’t know what was wrong and paid for a diagnosis on my car. They fixed the hood and only mentioned the issue with my catalytic converter, which I could not afford to repair at the time. However, they never mentioned or inspected the Transmission Control Module (TCM) even though my car was eligible for extended coverage…
