Complaints by model year
Newer model years have had less time on the road, so they naturally have fewer complaints. Compare a year against its neighbors rather than against brand-new models.

Jaguar XJ recalls
Risk: Failure of the air bags to deploy properly increases the risk of injury in a crash.
Risk: Engine failure may increase the risk of a crash.
Risk: A blank instrument cluster will not show important information like vehicle speed, increasing the risk of a crash.
Risk: In the event of a crash, the incorrect calibration may not activate the air bag deployment as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Risk: In the event of a crash of sufficient severity, the front passenger air bag may not deploy as required, increasing the risk of injury.
Risk: If the occupant does not correctly understand how air bag functions, they may be at an increased risk of personal injury in the event of a crash.
Risk: A brake fluid leak may reduce the vehicle's braking ability, requiring additional distance to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
Risk: If the battery positive cable loosens, an electrical short may result, increasing the risk of a fire. If the FEAD belt looses or detaches, the vehicle may lose power assisted steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
Risk: Vehicles that have the generic software may put the occupants at an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Risk: If a toe link separates from the rear sub-frame, a loss of vehicle stability and directional control may result, increasing the risk of a crash.
Risk: If the certification label does not specify all the necessary information or the vehicle weight range could result in the vehicle being overloaded and increase the risk of a crash.
Risk: If the wiper arms lose synchronization and clash, they could detach from the vehicle, reducing a driver's visibility and increasing the risk of crash.
