   would like to add to the growing list of frustrated Jeep Cherokee owners requiring an expensive repair for known PTU issues. The "Service 4WD" check light came on 1 year ago (checked by service department 12/2025), finally diagnosed in August 2026 as a failed PTU, with back ordered repair due to rising number of this specific repair/part. There was a recall done on 2015-2019 Jeep Cherokees for this very same issue. Why this safety recall hasn't been extended to post -2019…

   Well the engine definitely failed to provide power for me to drive my vehicle. And as I am doing more and more research on what the PTU does, which is what there is a recall on.    2019 Jeep with 59051 miles on it. Upon starting the car, the idle was low and the engine ran rough. While driving, it would stall when stopping. After several tries it would start but not stay running while idling.     While coming to a stop the vehicle just died while in traffic. Managed to get to an auto zone and the code was p018c fuel pressure sensor B circuit low. The stop/start feauture also just randomly stops working. Jeep has no answer to this. The vehicle dying while in traffic could be deadly.
