On September 1, 2026, my 2022 Toyota Tundra experienced a serious loss of accelerator response while I was leaving a gas station and entering traffic. I pressed the accelerator, but the truck provided effectively no acceleration, leaving me partially in the roadway. An approaching vehicle had to swerve into the opposing traffic lane to avoid a collision. I had experienced a similar low-speed loss of accelerator response within the prior two weeks. On September 2, while…

In this vehicle, I regularly experience a "delay" in gas pedal response. I drive a non-hybrid V6 twin turbo variant engine 2022 Toyota Tundra, and for a long time I thought this was just related to turbo spooling delays. But Toyota's recent TSB-0032-26 publishing last month confirmed that it is actually a TCM logic issue requiring a re-flash. I spoke to the dealership and this is not covered outside of the standard 3-year bumper to bumper warranty, and they wouldn't cover it…

Engine hesitation from a stop. Engine takes 1-2 seconds to respond to throttle pedal input. Creates timing safety hazard when attempting to cross oncoming lane to enter roadway. Puts vehicle at risk of not clearing the oncoming lane in time to avoid collision. Intermittent and haven’t been able to reproduce with dealer.

Vehicle failed to accelerate after I attempted to merge onto 3 lane road from a driveway. No chimes, warning or emergency braking occurred but the vehicle had no response for a second or two. I captured the incident on my dash cam. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  5. Filed Dec 17, 2025MOAcceleration & Cruise Control
There is a throttle lag when I depress the acceleration pedal, the vehicle doesnt not move for a period of time ranging from 0.5 seconds to 3 seconds. This is more prominent when performing a creeping start where the vehicle has not fully stopped.

  6. Filed Dec 12, 2025MDEngineAcceleration & Cruise Control
On a cold start, or if you drive with the vehicle in normal mode, from my understanding, vehicles are now fly by wire, the computer has a lag that if you attempt to pull out in front of someone, the truck will simply fail to go, then after a delay. It will take off like a rocket, to circumvent this issue, I have found. If you drive in sport mode, it tends to have less of a delay. But it's a serious safety concern.Along with the other issues with these vehicles, I have had a…

Throttle lag/hesitstaion , from a dead stop at stop sign I attempted to accelerate , my truck went a few inches forward and no pedal response after a 3 second delay my vehicle started accelerating again

  8. Filed Nov 28, 2025TXEngineAcceleration & Cruise Control
The vehicle hesitates when starting from a stop. It feels like the engine dies. This was a previous “recall”. Vehicle was “fixed” but still happening. I’ve informed Toyota of issue. No resolution. I’ve almost been hit twice at an intersection because of this.

  9. Filed Nov 26, 2025NCFuel, Hybrid & EV PropulsionAcceleration & Cruise Control
The truck has a hesitation to start from stop/slow state. This is concerning because when I start to accelerate, sometimes it doesn’t want to go for a 1-2 second time period making it unsafe to pull into traffic. It is sporadic and seems to happen more when I start and stop in quick succession.

Unknown what component failed. Safety was at risk because the delay in the throttle response can result in get in an accident. I can't reproduce the problem. It happens at random. The vehicle has never been inspected by anyone about this issue. No warning whatsoever. It doesn't happen ofen. Some times it's worse than others.

The major throttle lag. When leaving from a stop it takes a few seconds of pressing the gas before the truck even begins to accelerate. I have had multiple issues with throttle lag when dealing with oncoming traffic. No lights have indicated any issues and all the dealerships can tell me is it’s a common issue.

Lack of throttle response. Takes 5 seconds for the throttle to respond to legal input making it dangerous when accelerating.
