Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles (PHEVs). An internal transmission wiring connector may short circuit, resulting in an unexpected engine shutdown.

Risk: An unexpected engine shutdown can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the Power Inverter Module (PIM) software and, if necessary, update the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and the electronic control module (ECM) software, free of charge. FCA US will notify dealers and begin notifying owners on or about: 03/21/2023 for 2021 model year vehicles, 05/02/2023 for 2019-2020 model year vehicles, and 06/15/2023 for 2017-2018 model year vehicles. Chrysler issued this safety recall 52D at the end of June and still no remedy is being reported as available from Chrysler. This is abysmal customer performance and and unacceptable turnaround time for what amounts to a serious safety risk. Chrysler has not and continues not to provide an estimated timelines for resolution. I am renting a vehicle in the meantime given the safety risk (both while driving and while parked), paying for the rental cost out of pocket and taking a…

On July 19, 2026, I was driving my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on E-470 at approximately 75 mph. Without warning, the dashboard displayed "Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon," and the amber check engine light illuminated. At the same time, the vehicle immediately lost all motor power, began slowing, and did not respond to accelerator input. There were six occupants in the vehicle, including four young children. I was traveling on a busy six-lane highway with little to…

I am reporting an ongoing, catastrophic safety defect and corporate suppression regarding Chrysler Recall 03A (NHTSA Campaign 23V010) on my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The official recall remedy has repeatedly failed to prevent total electrical system depletion and unexpected motive power shutdown in the field, leaving my family in extreme danger. On March 3, 2023, at 6,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a complete, un-warned motive power shutdown while I was driving my two…

Upon attempting to charge the vehicle with factory supplied Level 1 charger, a dashboard message appeared stating "Service Charging System" and the vehicle would not charge. Took the vehicle to a service station and scanned the vehicle. Listed error code is p0d27-00. The code could not be cleared and the vehicle was unable to be charged. Vehicle had to be taken to a Chrysler dealer for the code to be cleared in order to charging capability to be restored. This was considered…

    1. Most emergency lights come on while the vehicle's brake engages automatically. The brake then pumps up and down on its own if any pressure is applied. Shortly after, the vehicle goes into "limp mode". The vehicle is currently at a Chrysler Dealership service department and available for inspection. 2. This has occurred 8 times since the vehicle was purchased in October 2024. All but one time, it has happened while driving. Once it happened while on a major highway. I had…

My 2022 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV has experienced three separate complete losses of motive power at highway speed, each preceded only by a brief dashboard warning to pull over safely. First occurrence: April 18, 2026. Second: May 7, 2026 — vehicle towed to Spitzer Motor City (Cleveland, OH), an authorized Stellantis dealer. Dealer replaced the Power Inverter Module hardware under warranty (R.O. 42463CY). Third occurrence: May 17, 2026 — just five days after the repair. Notably,…

I slowed to approximately 50 miles per hour to pass a disabled vehicle and began accelerating again when the dash displayed a message that said "Stop Safely- Vehicle will Shut off soon" the check engine light, a red turtle light also lit up. While driving 75MPH, the vehicle shut down with a message to pull over. All acceleration was lost. We had to navigate, without warning, across 3 lanes of traffic to pull over on the right side of the highway. This was EXTREMELY unsafe as we were slowing down and essentially cutting off other vehicles who were honking at us as this was a traffic hazard. All 6 members of my family were in the vehicle. We had this happen another 3 times before arriving home. I took it to my…

Fuel line leak near engine. It sounds very similiar to the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Recall. The vehicle reaked of gasoline fumes coming in through the vents. Our mechanic replaced the fuel line, said it had a hole. We felt very unsafe even starting the car when it reaked of gas due to risk of fire. No warnings lights or anything, just the smell to tip us off. No one else has inspected the car since we didn't have anything catastrophic happen.

6/21/25 , a Saturday, I stopped at a traffic light when gas saver function kicked in and shut car off. The car went into park mode by itself and parking brake engaged. The car would not start and had to be towed. It sat until Monday when I was able to start it and drive it to my mechanic's business a mile from my location and shut it off. Immediately after shutting it off it would not start again. My mechanic was able to start it a few days later and when he drove it about 5…

While at freeway speed (~75mph) "Vehicle Will Shut Off Shortly" warning appeared and lost propulsion. I pulled over and was able to get to a rest stop at reduced speed (~35mph) with the remaining battery power but it was not ideal as shoulder was limited due to road construction and could not leave vehicle on side of the road. Prior software update 03A / 23V-010 was performed as it looks to be a known condition. The software update does not repair the root cause of the…
