Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks manufactured August 10, 2016, to September 17, 2016. The frame reinforcement bracket may not have been attached to the front fuel tank strap, allowing the fuel tank strap to separate from the frame.
Risk: A fuel tank strap that separates and allows the fuel tank to contact the ground may cause a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, install the reinforcement bracket, free of charge. The recall began on February 7, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S45.
- FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2017 Ford F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, and F-550 SD trucks manufactured March 21, 2016, to August 28, 2016. The protective shield on the fuel conditioning module may have inadequate adhesion, allowing the shield to become dislodged.
Risk: If the shield becomes dislodged, the drain valve may open resulting in a fuel leak. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire. Under certain conditions, significant liquid fuel on the road surface may cause a slip hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the protective shield, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S39.

On 5/8/2026 at 1555 hours, while driving at normal freeway speed under normal driving conditions, vehicle began an exhaust system regeneration cycle. During the course of the region cycle, vehicle began to smoke excessively and realizing this wan not normal, I was able to yield to the right shoulder of the roadway. Almost immediately the vehicle ignited on fire and completely burned to the ground. The fire appeared to have commenced in the engine compartment, driver side…

I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2017 Ford F-250 diesel truck. While towing a 34-foot fifth wheel trailer and traveling from [XXX] to [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a sudden and dangerous failure near [XXX] . The engine warning light appeared, the vehicle went into low power mode, and then completely shut down on the highway. This created a serious safety hazard, particularly while towing a large trailer at highway speeds. The vehicle was towed to a repair…

This past year I experienced catastrophic failure with my Bosch, CP4 fuel pump in my 2017 Ford F250 with a 6.7 L diesel. Recalls have been published by Ford, but not beyond a 2018 vehicle. After seeing metal fragments in my fuel water separator, I was forced to flush my entire fuel system, replace the CP4 fuel pump with a CDR high pressure pump (replacement), flush the entire fuel rail system and replace my fuel injectors. This repair cost me approximately $13,000. I find it…

2 different issues- 1st issue was Ford factory fuel filter leaked at a seam. Resulting in fuel loss all over engine! 2nd issue is fuel filter inlet line retaining clip comes unclipped on its own resulting in fuel loss all over the engine. Both incidents happened during long distance travel which also resulted in several gallons of fuel drenching whole undercarriage of vehicle.

We get a power reduced code and the truck shuts down while driving. We have to pull over and put it in park and restart it. When we are on the freeway we can’t get over we put it in neutral and turn off the truck and restart it. It is very scary and dangerous! This has been happening since June of 2025.

While pulling a 38ft 5th wheel camper on an incline with the cruise control set at random the vehicle completely dies. It experiences a total shutdown of the engine, which in return causes a complete loss of power steering, brakes etc. The truck will not restart until you push the off button and open the drivers door to shut the entire system down

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. A message was displayed to reduce the truck speed. Then the speed started to reduce itself, I wasn't able to increase the speed. I was on a Hwy and the speed limit was 65 mph and on a slight hill the trucks speed was only 39 mph. I put the flashers on hoping to alert the cars passing me that I had a problem. Then the engine died so I steered it over to the side of the road. I tried to re-start it and the truck shook before it died again. I had it towed to a Ford dealer in…

Ford has a problem where the 34 gallon gas tank only reads as a 20-25 gallon gas tank. They have a service bulletin on it and the number for that is 17-0046. After calling multiple dealerships I was told thousands would have to come out of my pocket because of their factory defect. The fix includes replacing the whole fuel tank and also replacing the fuel level sender. My vehicle being within the dates are clearly affected by this defect and I don’t understand why it should…

I own a 2017 Ford F-250 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel with a CP4 fuel pump that recently failed. Ford has already recalled this exact part for 2020-2022 models (Recall 24V-841) due to known defects, but they refuse to assist owners of earlier models like mine, even though the issue is the same. The CP4 failure can cause sudden fuel system failure, which is dangerous while driving. Ford should extend the recall to cover all affected vehicles before more owners are left with costly…
