I was driving and had a sudden loss of power. My gas pedal would not respond. I had to put my car in park and out of hybrid so my gas engine would come on.

Since the 68C recall, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has not behaved normally and has become increasingly unpredictable. Even with a mostly or nearly full battery, it frequently will not operate in pure electric mode at lower speeds, particularly on even slight inclines. The gas engine can suddenly start when I am expecting electric operation, sometimes accompanied by hesitation, lurching, or an abrupt change in power delivery. I have genuine safety concerns with the vehicle…

My vehicle is currently in the shop getting the High voltage battery replaced for the second time due to a code showing battery voltage variation as well as getting the latest 21D recall completed. The Jeep currently has about 90,000 miles and has received all other recalls. The jeep no longer functions or performs like it did when I took ownership in February of 2022. It routinely loses power when trying to accelerate onto Highways or into traffic lanes or up hills. You can…

After the safety recall 68C, the vehicle no longer operates as designed. In electric only mode, the gas engine engages, which is bad for the engine. This fails to give the engine time to prepare for short sudden use. When driving, the high voltage battery will lag or not produce power as it did prior. This can cause an accident (which it almost did already for myself). The acceleration lags before engaging. This vehicle performed properly prior to this software (1/1/2026)…
NHTSA complaint #11763990 · source - Filed Sep 8, 2026NJAcceleration & Cruise Control
While driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler on the highway, the vehicle displayed a warning indicating a malfunction with the Electronic Throttle Control system. Immediately following the warning, the vehicle experienced a significant loss of acceleration and would not respond normally to accelerator pedal input. The vehicle subsequently began accelerating/surging without my commanding the acceleration. The unintended acceleration was significant enough that I had to apply the…

While driving from [XXX] to [XXX], the vehicle experienced two sudden loss-of-propulsion events at highway speed. During the first incident in downtown [XXX], cruise control disengaged, the transmission abruptly downshifted, and the accelerator became largely unresponsive. The vehicle rapidly lost speed in traffic, and another vehicle nearly rear-ended me because I could not maintain speed or accelerate. The engine remained running, but the vehicle appeared to enter…

There has been an extreme loss of power after the 68c recall making it very unsafe when trying to accelerate. Eventually the car just died and was towed to the dealer.

"The vehicle exhibits a recurring Loss of Motive Power (LMP) during low-speed maneuvers (intersections) and highway speeds (50+ mph). The failure is preceded by erratic instrument cluster behavior (gauge spikes) and results in a total loss of propulsion without prior warning. This defect persists despite the completion of Recall ZB7 and Recall 68C. The dealership has duplicated the failure but refuses further repair, stating the vehicle is 'out of scope' for current…

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -After the 68C recall update for the HV battery failures, the vehicle has not been able to consistently maintain or provide power due to the limitation of the battery introduced as part of the recall. This is most noticeable driving in Electric Mode below 60% charge. The throttle behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable due to the recent updated How was your safety or the…

While driving on a couple occasions the traction control light kicked in and wouldn’t allow me to turn I had to come to almost a complete stop, I thought it had gone away and a few days later I had a death wobble that occurred on a very busy hwy and had to pull into the middle lane to prevent an accident. I could not let go completely of the wheel but I also couldn’t really control the vehicle I had to stop it. I was not turning when this one happened I was going straight I…
