The contact's daughter owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While the contact's daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed evaporative emission purge pump. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was…

Evaporative emissions purge pump failed at 18,473 miles. As the bumper-to-bumper warranty has expired GM refused to cover this repair. As this is a known problem with certain GM vehicles, the repair is covered for older model year out-of-warranty cars and for residents of other states (California, for example). This repair is covered by the emissions warranty in some states (California), but not Michigan.

While driving at Interstate speeds, the engine abruptly stalled, causing an immediate loss of motive power. I was able to coast off the Interstate to a surface street then into a gas station parking lot. Once stopped, the engine would not start again. It would crank repeatedly but never fire, like it was out of gas, but I had nearly 1/2 tank still. This is a safety concern having a 3yr old truck just die on you at highway speeds. This vehicle matches the exact year, make,…

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light and towing a camper the vehicle suddenly stalled. At the time of the failure the vehicle had a quarter tank of fuel. After several attempts the vehicle restarted and was driven to a gas station and was refueled. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on one other occasion. The vehicle was not hauling a trailer at the time, and the grandson was inside the vehicle.…

Catastrophic Engine failure - Chevy, Silverado 1500, Yr: 2023; Odometer: 33,183: On 8/16/2026 we were traveling down a busy highway towing our camper and the engine completely stopped, no propulsion, no warning lights, no check engine lights; complete failure; we had to coast to side of road. The only thing that indicated a problem is that we started hearing what sounded like marbles rattling, it wasn't loud but noticeable. We pulled over at gas station to check oil, even…

Main bearing failure at highway speed. Engine replaced by GM under warranty. Vehicle had the recall service done prior to the failure, the recall test and different oil was inadequate to predict or prevent this failure. Vehicle was serviced by the dealer for all oil changes on time.

Multiple times the truck has stopped running while driving. Once one the highway, once in an intersection, another time in a parking lot. It has not started when I have tried to turn it on. All the times I have called AAA. They have checked the battery and there is no battery issue. Twice AAA has come out, once the police have come and sat behind the truck to keep me safe. After about 10 minutes of the sitting with the truck off I can restart it and drive. Upon research,…

Was making a left turn with a left turn street light green for me to turn across an intersection. Pickup stalled in the middle of the intersection and would not start. With the help of another person we manually pushed the pickup out of the intersection and onto another side street. I received an email at that exact time from General Motors showing a code of P129F which is the Fuel Pump Power Control Module. I am a [XXX] man stranded in 90 degree heat with no AC or shade to…

A valve on the 3.0L Duramax is allegedly sticking, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode or be inoperable. This is a known issue for GM and they have issued a service bulletin on it. Unfortunately, no dealers want to address the issue and now we are left with a vehicle that if we do not pay to repair, after it being ours for only 5 days, the vehicle will be unusable. This vehicle is under warranty still and this part is needed for operation. I believe this avoidance of a…

Vehicle would not start while on vacation. Called a tow to take to GM dealer. Turns out the fuel pump control module was bad. Some 2023 with a 5.3 had recalls. I was told my bin didn’t qualify so GM told me to contact you.

I was travelling on the highway at approximately 72 miles an hour in the left lane trying to pass a vehicle in the right lane. while accelerating my truck was like the brakes were slammed on and all kinds of lights starting flashing. This included the check engine light, low oil pressure light and lane assist lights. The truck shifted into Neutral and I could not place back into drive.
